Writers’ Workshops (sponsored by AASWWE)

Introduction to Writing for Publication. 16th of April, 2010 (10-12.30)
Have you always wanted to publish something from your work but don’t where to start? This workshop takes you through the fundamentals of writing journal articles and conference papers. We will discuss what components of writing including how to establish a topic, develop an abstract and a writing plan. The workshop is practical and interactive and will focus, in particular, in on writing about education in social work and human services.

Location: University of Qld. Room 101- Chamberlain Building 35
Advanced Workshop on Writing for Publication. 19th of May (9:30-12.30).
This workshop is for people who have got a well developed idea for a journal article or conference paper. The workshop is ideal for those with a paper in draft form (even just a few pages). In this workshop we will consider in detail the features of publishable papers and how to get your paper from draft to published work. Numbers will be limited to ensure that there opportunity for interaction.

Cost: Both workshops are free to AASWWE members ($60 per workshop for all others).

All attendees must RSVP to k.healy@social.uq.edu.au as numbers are strictly limited. Regrettably those who do not RSVP may be refused entry to the workshop if there are no spaces remaining.
