CALL for Papers
ADVANCES Special Issue: Working with Children
(June/July 2010) Deadline for submissions is 2nd of April, 2010. In June/ July 2010, “ADVANCES in Social Work and Welfare Education” will publish a special issue on Working with Children. A key impetus for the special issue was the roundtable on Towards a Child-Inclusive Curricula in Social Work Education’ jointly sponsored by the Australian Centre for Child Protection and Australian Association of Social Workers in 2009. The Special Issue is an opportunity for educators, practitioners and students, in Australia and New Zealand to share information and analysis of their practice in promoting children’s well-being and welfare in education, community development or service delivery. We welcome papers on any aspect of education and practice related to children’s well-being and welfare. We especially welcome articles on: promoting children and young people’s well-being in social work and human services education and practice; preparing students to work with children, and, particularly, educational strategies for meeting the new AASW minimum standards in child protection; and hearing the voices of children and young people in education. There are two options for publication in Advances: refereed articles; or practice reflections. Refereed articles are scholarly papers of approximately 6000 words in length. Practice reflections are shorter opinion pieces, of up to 1500 words in length. Both refereed articles and practice reflections should confirm to the publication guidelines for ADVANCES (please go to our website for details: aaswwe.asn.au) DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 2ND OF APRIL, 2010. Please send all submissions (by email) to: Professor Karen Healy Editor, Advances in Social Work and Welfare Education k.healy@social.uq.edu.au 0 Comments
